About

HomeHome → About

A born and bred Mancunian, Nikki’s down to earth, cheeky Northern charm enables her to engage with guests and audiences of all ages easily and her experience both in front of, and behind, the camera has ensured she’s ready for any eventuality – able to ad-lib effortlessly, think on her feet and always keep a cool head and a sense of humour.

Nikki has a wealth of LIVE TV and pre-recorded Presenting experience after landing her dream job as an Entertainment reporter for The Guardian Media Group’s, Channel M in Manchester in 2007.

A few short months later she was asked by the Channel’s Executive Producer to try out as the Breakfast Show Anchor on the brand new flagship show – two years later she was still sat on the Breakfast Sofa!

The three hour daily live show was a fabulous training ground with no two days the same and a role that required an ability to tackle both serious news and features through to showbiz news and celebrity interviews (with a bit of Sport, Health and Business thrown in for good measure)

Nikki left the channel in 2009 to embark on a freelance career and has been lucky enough to work on some very exciting projects, She is the online Presenter for the BBC’s super successful dance series ’Strictly Come Dancing’ bringing audiences all the backstage gossip and exclusive interviews, as well as voicing the weekly catch up programme ‘strictly in 60’ – a role that she has had since the 2009 series.

As a huge fan of the series (and a little nosey parker) this is a dream role which sees her get to chat to the dancers, celebrity contestants and judges when the broadcast cameras aren’t rolling – asking the questions you won’t see on TV and getting them involved in all sorts of fun and games

She is also a regular contributor to BBC 2′s Something for the Weekend as a Retail Expert reviewing all sorts of weird and wonderful products new to the market, as well as the latest gadgets and gizmos along with Tim Lovejoy and celebrity guests – a role that requires quick wit and an ability to keep a cool head and sense of humour as quite literally anything can happen!

She also fronted a specialist Health and Fitness magazine show for Life TV, works as an Entertainment Reporter and showbiz Correspondent for various channels including UKTV and Channel M and is very experienced in the use of open Talk back and autocue.

She has scripted, produced and presented TV travel features on Lapland and Helsinki, a weekly cinema review show and a half hour documentary on the Manchester music scene.

Her experience is not only limited to Entertainment & lifestyle programming, she also runs a Retail, technology and Gadgets blog – ‘The Brand Detective‘

As well as presenting a weekly Social Media News bulletin for advertising and Media industry publication ‘The Drum’ online and hosts a monthly Consumer Focused show for Numero TV.

She is a trained Broadcast Journalist with a BA (Hons) in Media Studies, 2:1.

As well as presenting alone, Nikki works well as a co-host and has had the pleasure of working alongside well-known presenters such as Andy Crane, Louise Redknapp and TMF’s Hannah Peckham.

Nikki also works professionally as a Voice artist, trained at the London Academy of Radio, Film & TV and her credits including BBC School Report, BBC Strictly Come Dancing, Nailease and BT.
